To All Of Our Fallen Heroes ...
Where were you on September 11, 2001
As the nation watched as the terrorism was done
What seemed like a movie or a very bad dream
No one could imagine something so extreme
We all watched 1 World Trade Center go up in smoke
Soon Tower 2 met the same fate - it was no joke
If that weren't enough, next the Pentagon was hit
Then another crash near Pittsburgh - no one could believe it
"America Under Attack" is what all the headlines said
So many injured people - so many feared dead
Four planes crashed in one day - a tragic thing
Everyone wondered what the next day would bring
Our freedom has been tested - everything we hold dear
Has been taken away and replaced with fear
Whatever outcome may result from this horrible crime
It's something we'll always remember over time
In one way or another this has touched us all
We need to unite as one - we need to stand tall
Let us remember those who gave their hearts and lives to save others
Innocent people - mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers
You're all in our hearts and prayers everyday
We'll fight for our freedom - they can't take that away
GOD BLESS THE USA !!!!!! :-)

The Fire Fighters Son
(copyright Beverley Stuive 2001)
It was late one Tuesday evening,
Before the mother could sit down,
To tell her child about
The terror that hit downtown.
She looked into the eyes of her son
Dear God, she loved him so,
She felt her heart begin to break
And the hurt began to show.
She gathered all her strength and courage,
as her story she began to tell.
My Baby don't cry, but I'm afraid daddy
Might be under a building that fell.
The boy looked back at his mother,
His eyes made not one blink.
And the mother's tears began to fall.
What would her son think?
You see, his daddy is a firefighter,
His hero from the day of his birth.
He loved his dad more than anything else
That could ever inherit this earth.
The mother's head began to drop,
Her forehead resting on her palm.
She thought her son would be upset.
Instead, he was very calm.
The boy leaned over towards his mom,
And put his hand upon her head.
In her ear he began to whisper,
And this is what he said:
”Mommy please don't cry,
I knew daddy wasn't coming home.
I talked to him just a while ago,
But it wasn't on the phone.
He told me that he loved me,
And he promised we'd meet again.
He told of his new home,
And the job he was to begin.”
”God is building an army,
And there were many angels needed.
That, is where daddy and the others went.
They weren't all defeated.”
It was then, the mother lifted her head.
The tears streamed down her face.
And she could feel her husband's presence,
As it filled her heart with grace.
It was then she knew her son was right.
He was in God's great army now.
She also knew her son was safe,
That he'd be kept from harm somehow.
So, evildoers of the world beware.
An army is on the way.
Bolstered by new angels,
Who left the towers that day..
Their Commander has NEVER been beaten.
His power has NEVER been matched,
And if evil thinks He was Almighty before......
Well, the surface has just been scratched!

Gemini
Buildings
Gemini buildings fell that day
Dust bellowed from the ground
To ash, went souls ,and thousands mourned
Chirped lifeless firemen's sound.
Arise we, with a strength anewed
Too many heroic themes
To rest our dead, among the sorrows
Of patriots shining beams
To end the world ... of tragedy,
Of terror, across the land
Came purpose to oppose its plight
We all united stand
As gray, the day love perished
Will not control our will
To end all hopeless factions
And brave the day, until
Our worldly deeds unite as one
to strengthen in our love
For peace, shall set tomorrow's stage
With help from God above.

Hi Alex, what a wonderful site. I was profoundly shocked when I just kept scrolling down the list of the victims and it just kept going. It finally put a face to the disaster for me instead of television images.
I enjoyed your poetry section. On my website that just launched. www.MichaelFeds.com, I have a poem written for Sept. 11th entitled "Independence Peril." It is copyrighted, but if you would like to share on your website you are more than welcome to, just let me know before you do so I can make a note of it.
God's blessings.

Poem for all the lives taken at the WTC:
Our Heroes Forever
This day started like many others
As you kissed your loved ones good-bye
To take upon your duty as a Rescuer, Officer, Firefighter, or Taxi cab driver and various other kinds. You shook your friends hand not knowing it was for the last time All the same routines done, then you walked away. Forever this memory will remain in my mind
At 8:45 a.m. your families, friends, and colleagues life was altered. Changed it was…. Forever. The first plane had already struck; by the time you arrived at WTC. The second plane was on its way. While you’re in the building that is, as you searched, carried, and Helped others to safety. Still you remained.
One hour and thirteen minutes passed and as you helped more people out, The tower you’re in collapses upon you. Out on the street, the pieces of the building came launching towards you. As you’re in the north tower, rescuing and helping, Thoughts of your colleagues kept coming into mind.
Then came 10:28 a.m. and it was gone, Time, the Towers and all of you!
Vanished in the ruins of this tragic day in history
Though never gone from our minds, not family, friends or all those strangers. Vanished in the street as the debris heaves forward and engulfs the ground. Never lost in our hearts, you’re our guardian angles! Your bravery, kindness, unselfishness, and love for others, Is what we think of when we think of all of you, our HEROES!

A Poem dedicated to the Passengers of 9-11:
The Angels That Came To Be
On their way that morning
to their destinations.
Some for jobs, some for home, and
some for celebrations.
266 souls were taken
away.
This was all done within a few
hours of this day.
Lasting of course a lifetime,
by this horrific crime.

Dear Webmaster,
I have e-mailed you prior to this but realize that you must be overwhelmed with e-mails. Please, if you could take a moment to hear our commemorative song "Old Glory" (Signs of Hope), for all on the 9/11 events. I also visit your site frequently and think that it is the best remembrance site on the internet and have also linked you to ours, An American Strength. I once again thank you for your time and commend you for all your efforts.
Respectfully,

How could you be so cruel destroying humanity?
Where has your hatred come?
What have these people done?
We are Americans, that all we done to you.
We are all human too.
We all bleed just as you.
As I heard today, the different is we are Americans.
We bleed those colors true, Those colors Red, White and Blue.
We are Americans.
We stand by our men, and also our land.
We are Americans.
We will not tolerate, what you people have done.
Your hatred has killed our innocent love ones.
What have you think you done?
We are looking for you.
For taking our love ones.
What have you animals done?
We stand for Liberty, Freedom and Justice too.
We will get a part of you, and everyone who help you too.

We're Sorry
By Matthew Lachs
We're sorry for the four planes,
Hijacked and broken from evil.
We're sorry for eight pilots,
Harmed against their will.
We're sorry for the people at work,
People died without warning.
We're sorry for the FDNY,
A chaplain died in his prayer.
We're sorry for the NYPD,
They lost 78 of their warriors.
We're sorry for the brave people,
Who took their lives for the Home of the Brave.
We just put up our website for the song,
"Stand Up For The USA" today (8/5/02)
which is available to hear using real audio.
We may be uploading mp3 soon but for now
it's available via RealAudio to anyone with a 28baud modem and up...
Thanks so much for all the good work and links!

Hi -
I am a singer/songwriter/keyboardist from the NYC metro area. I just released a track entitled "American Pride". It is an "uptempo, feel-good" track that was inspired by the heroic efforts that were made in the wake of the events of 9/11.
The song is being plugged to commercial radio right now, and is on sale over the internet, and also in all CDWorld record stores in NJ, as well as some other NJ-based stores. A portion of the profits goes to the "Families of Freedom" non-profit organization.
You can read about the song, hear it, etc. at:
http://www.standtogether.net
Please consider adding this song to your list. I will be adding a link to your site from mine.
Thank you!
